Fine Wine and Appetizers

This event features five different and delightful wines carefully selected by John Neuburg of AVA wine+spirits. Tony Koebel from The Orville and The Norbert has created a wonderful menu featuring authentic Mexican appetizers that complement the wines.

HOW IT WORKS – EVENT DAY FEBRUARY 21, 2026

Wines and appetizers will be packaged and available for curbside pick up between 3:30 and 4:30 pm on the day of the event at the parking lot entrance to the Washington County Historical Society 320 S Fifth Avenue West Bend.

After picking up their event packs, guests will return home, turn on their computers and join John Neuburg on Zoom at 5:30 pm. John will again be the emcee for our Zoom wine and appetizer tasting. With his good humor and wit, he will guide us through the tasting and describe how the appetizers complement the various wines. (Not familiar with Zoom? We can help!)

Each guest will be entered into a raffle for a bottle of wine. Raffle winners will be drawn during the tasting. Auction winners will be announced after the tasting.

At 6:30 pm, the formal program will be over but guests can continue to enjoy their wine, mingle with other guests on Zoom and hear about what is new with the Foundation.

The week before the event, an online auction will be available for ticketed guests at all levels and winners will be announced during the event.

FOR A $65 TICKET, guests at this level will receive:

One of the five wines of their choice (listed below)
  1. Fiol Prosecco Extra Dry – Combining both savory and sweet flavors ending on notes of Mediterranean spices and lemons
  2. The Horologist Sauvignon Blanc – Aromas of lemon and lime that give way to a supernova of gooseberry flavors with a clean, fruity finish.
  3. Wanderer Malbec – Bold, fruit forward red from Argentina known for rich flavors of black cherry, plum and spice plus a smooth velvety texture from longer ripening.
  4. Zolo Cabernet Sauvignon – Aged 10 months in French and American oak, offering a deep red color and toasted vanilla flavors
  5. Two Mountain Hidden Horse Red Blend – From Washington, this blend is 48% Cab, 40% Merlot 7% Sirah and 2% Malbec. Aromas of ripe cherries, black currants, pipe tobacco and baking spices
A delightful platter of appetizers paired to complement the different wines:
