An Evening of Wine and Fine Dining

The Washington County Campus Foundation is pleased to introduce the fourth annual Evening of Wine and Fine Dining. A premiere dinner and wine experience, this event is centered on a country or region famous for fine wines with a gourmet dinner to compliment the wine selection.

This event will feature the wine and cuisine of Argentina with a five course dinner and six complimenting wines. Ken and Joanie Kenney of the Little Red Inn and John Neuburg of AVA Wine+Spirits will present their best for an epicurean night to remember! The event’s audience is the Foundation’s most loyal supporters and well known community leaders.

The event will be held at Bink Steinbach’s Farm and “The Ruins” – a popular event venue for private parties and weddings – located just 5 minutes north of the campus. Even though certain COVID restrictions have been eased and many people are receiving vaccinations, we are dedicated to our donors’ safety which is the reason for choosing an outdoor venue with socially-distanced seating for dinner in a well ventilated tent.

Our Argentine theme will be consistent with Argentina’s love of barbeque. Kenny and Joanie Kenney will grill brisket and vegetables and prepare four other delightful courses to compliment six amazing wines from Tapiz,  Zolo and Wapisa wineries. John Neuburg of AVA Wine+Spirits will guide guests through each course and describe the complimenting characteristics of each of the wines.  Consistent with the Argentine theme and being an outside event, we are encouraging guests to come in casual attire – Jeans, Boots, Denim and Cowboy hats – anything gaucho is welcomed and encouraged.

We are keeping the ticket price at the 2019 level of $160 per person. As you know, half the price of each ticket supports the Washington County Campus Foundation scholarship program that provides financial support to those students who attend college at our local UWM-Washington County Campus.  Given that this is an outdoor event and held on a week night, we will start earlier than our normal 6 PM start to accommodate an earlier end time.

6:00 P.M.            Three Course Dinner with and five complimenting wines

Blind Auction Closes

7:30 P.M.            Dessert Course with final wine and voice auction

8:00 P.M.            Thank you and Good night



Appetizer 1:  Empanadas – A traditional snack, meat filled dumpling.

Appetizer 2:  Provoleta – Grilled Provolone cheese served on crisp bread.

Appetizer 3:  Tomato Rellenos  – Cherry tomatoes filled with a mixture of rice.

First Course Wines:

Zolo Unoaked ChardonnayFruit focused with aromas of tropical fruit, apples and peaches

Zolo Signature Red – A smooth blend of Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon, Bonarda, and Merlot


Locro Argentino – Argentina-style pork, pumpkin & corn soup. (Rich and a little spicy)

Soup Course Wine:

Wapisa Sauvignon Blanc – Vivid aromas of saline acidity with notes of citrus



Hearts of Palm – Traditionally served in Argentina cuisine.

Salad Course Wine:

Tapiz Alto Chardonnay – Barrel-fermented with fruit dominating the oak – Long buttery finish



Wood Grilled Beef Brisket – topped with Chimichurri sauce.

Assorted Fire Roasted Vegetables – topped with goat cheese.

Entree Course Wine:

Tapiz Alto Malbec – High elevation creates rich smooth tannins.  This wine is fruity, fresh and juicy with the taste of blackberries and spice.



Dulce de leche filled pancake – like a crepe.

Dessert Course Wine:

Zolo Signature White – Refreshing, with a slight effervescence.  It is naturally sweet yet sophisticated.  Torrontes grapes along with some Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc.
